Gambia l,

Your comments on the above subject are well noted and most appreciated. In
fact, right now, I am still digesting all the valuable comments and
suggestions you gave and, by the grace of God, I'll post a response, one of
these days.

The good thing is that most of us have agreed that there is a need for such
a directory, and that the sooner we start it, the better it is. The question
then is about the format it should take: For instance, who should be
included in such a directory or database, and what title it should be given?

One quick lesson I have learnt, following my posting on the above subject,
is that, unlike before, when people accepted things at face value, Gambians
are now scrutinising every statement, every action that comes their way.

This is a very encouraging sign, and it reinforces my belief that with God's
help and determination on our part, the future of our country is going to be
bright.

Another lesson I quickly learnt, following my posting on the proposed
directory, is how bright people are on the L. One has to be very
painstaking/careful with what one sends to the List, because, believe me,
there are some fine brains on Gambia L, who wouldn't hesitate, for one
minute, to speak their minds.

By the way, what has happened to Amadou Kabirr Njie? I have not seen
anything from him of late. Mr Njie, I am missing your good contributions.

Finally, I must say that given the positive feedback I have received, in
connection with the proposed directory, I have already started writing down
the names, contact addresses, occupations/specialisations/ publications, if
there are any, of those Gambian "professionals" I already know, who would be
more than willing to use their expertise to the good of their country in
particular, and the entire world in general.

Katim, with God's help, and thankfully the UK soccer league is closed till
end of August, I can submit to you, by September of this year, a
comprehensive list/directory of as many Gambian professionals as possible,
and then it would be your task and the rest of the members of the list, to
see how best such a list can reach and benefit everyone. Of course, members
of the L are also encouraged to come up with their own list and post it to
Katim or myself.

Awa Sey, as suggested by Mr Jaiteh, I'll contact you one of these days and
we can discuss how best we can work together towards this goal.

Cheers and best wishes to all!!!

Ebrima Ceesay,
Birmingham, UK.

PS: Latirr, your comments on the above subject would be most appreciated!! I
am yet to hear from you.
