Wow, Baba. A simply and nice poem. This is my take on the poem: The 
central theme of the poem are on the two words, "words" and "voice." 
The former is a statement on 'something' that is; and the latter is an 
expression of 'something' on that which is. There is a subtle 
difference.

The poet sees the words, something that has been stated, for what that 
statement or writing stands for, and nothing more. However, the voice 
as insinuated by the reference to hankering, appears to be critical of 
that which is stated or written. The poet then affirms that his 
statement or what is written "was not begging for expression." It is 
just what it is: meant to humor or even to educate.
