All concerned,
Here we go again. Round and round we go with personal attacks and insults.
Personalizing issues (no matter how important) only trivializes them.

Please write private emails to each other and call each other all the names under the sun
if you so wish, but please keep it away from the list. Most members have become sick of this nonsense.

If anyone has anything to prove, (thinking they are either intellectuals or intellectuals in the making) please
I'll invite you to come to London, and go to Hyde Park's speakers corners and put  all your finery on
display for the London masses to see and  hear. If there is a similar place in the US, maybe it's about time
someone points out to you guys!!

Something really touching, is happening on this list. People who left The Gambia for over thirty years ago
to study or live in the west, especially the USA, have found each other, probably after thinking that they shall
never see or hear from each other again. Thanks to  this medium, after so long, they have found each other. That  is so touching.

I follow all their exchanges, (though nostalgic), for there is a message in it for us young ones. These guys (most of whom are my parents' age) have helped each other out, and most of all, have RESPECT for each other. We
should follow in their footsteps, so that 20,30 or a 40 years later, another generation of Gambians will see our
postings on the list( or a similar medium) and  our exchanges  shall bring tears to their eyes.

Whatever, or whoever we think we are, these old folks (excuse me guys, am sure you are still young in spirit) have been there before us. We should listen and learn from them. We can disagree, but lets be mature with our choice of words.

NB. How many times does a person have to say, that they've made a mistake in saying something, and that they are sorry and take it back, before they are stopped being called liars? Does it mean that anytime that person disagrees with someone on the list, that tag will come flying out again? For christ's sake, let go!

All the best

Manneh

Jabou,

I'll take my "immaturity," bad judgment, unclear thinking, etc over your
propensity to lie at every turn - any day. I don't need your sympathy any
way. If anyone needs to be felt for, it's yourself! Telling this forum that
I was sending you private email isn't the only lie you've told here. You
called us "cronies of ..." which is simply not true. After repeated
challenges, you've failed to produce any evidence to back your accusations.
A good muslim, ah?

I told you I was sickened by the contradiction between the spirit of your
religious postings, and your behavior. You took that whole statement to
portray me as someone who is offended by your religious postings. I had to
repeat myself for you to stop painting me in  an ugly light.

And this latest shameful behavior. You said clearly what you thought was
Halifa Sallah's mind set regarding the issues under contention. Hamjatta
quoted you verbatim. First, you deny saying what he attributed to you. Then
realizing that he can prove his quotation, you flip around to give a totally
new meaning to what you've said very clearly in your original posting! What
type of person does that? Why is some childish point-scoring more important
than your relationship with Allah? Just because you're sixty isn't a licence
to lie in public! You better go back and read the Quaran. Try Suratul
Yassin! I'm just sick of your hypocrisy Jabou!

Just a final message: I don't give a damn what people like you think of me.
I'll listen to your criticism when you are able to tell the truth without
checking how popular/unpopular it is.

Good night.

Saul.
