Kejera, I thank you for your concern. I am sure most people would want a very constructive engagement among subscribers. This is also my wish. I know that it should be my role to inspire other Gambians to be at their best and not to play the role of an intellectual demi-god. What we have fought throughout is a personality cult. No human being can be a depository of the sum total of human knowledge. This is why we have always been opposed to 'isms' being put behind the names of persons as if there are some form of social prophets. It is our view that human knowledge is a common property. Each has a right to take from the common stock and each has a duty to contribute one's quota to its store house. I must, however, admit that my language has degenerated in response to what I conceive to be a deliberate attempt to befog issues. If I were in your position, I will play a waiting game until this dust settles down. I have studied my discourse with Hamjatta and Saul and do not see that I can handle it in any other way but to come down to what I conceive to be their level of intervention. I will later apologise to anyone who does not expect me to adopt such a level of discourse. Greetings. Halifa. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
