DEar Ebrima, Thank you for the response. To start with,I do follow very closely the Nigerian political situation and I can also tell you that I did some work on Nigeria.Nigeria has been a very interesting political arena for me,not only with the struggle of the minority groups(especially in Delta)against among other things ,the barbarism of global capital in mind, but also the struggle of the military junta to become the super power of the sub region,if not the whole region through its active role in the Ecomog military set up. However as I did mention in my postings,if Soyinka have become a religious fanatic and a Yoruba nationalist, then to be very frank I have lost the Soyinka I actually love to read and read to know, his literary works alone(those that I know)are no evidence, this is also different from the fact that you might be critical to the contents of the works. You are very much welcome to convince me with some of the said articles you have but until then as said,my opinion is different. The dispute between Ali and Soyinka (from the reply of Soyinka, posted here)seems to be a long time dispute between the two,so I will need much time to get into and understand the difference between the two,and since it seems that you have more background materials and facts ,it will be very welcome if you can share these with me.I will very much wait in patience until over the week end.Have a nice weekend. For Freedom Saiks Saiks, Because of limited access to the Internet, since I am on mid term break, I'll very brief! But Saiks, with all due respect, do you really understand the undercurrents of Nigerian politics? Have you really found time to look at very closely the hostility between Nigerian Northerners and Nigeria Southerners? Do you really know how Soyinka thinks vis-a-vis these issues? Do you really understand the culture and customs of the Yoruba people? Do you really understand the culture of the Hausa Fulanis? Saiks, I have lots of questions to ask, but I do not have access to the net right now. Saiks, remember that some people do not practice what they preach. Believe me, there is ample empirical data to prove that Soyinka has a pro-Yoruba bias, and I can supply you the references if you wish. Anyway, my time is up, and I have to go, but next week, I'll make points very clear in relation to this particular issue!
