Tombong Saidy: You see, stop under-estimating the intelligence of the members of the Gambia-L. Believe me, people on the List are not fools! In fact, they are smarter than you can imagine. My brother, you have this habit of dividing the list, or diverting attention, for instance, whenever your monster boss Yaya Jammeh is being mercilessly exposed as a corrupt tyrant on the list. And now, because the current attention on the L is on me, but more importantly, given the fact that some of the comments on the list are very critical of me, you then decided to chip in - to send in an e-mail, saying that Cheyassin Secka told you that he did not write the e-mail I posted to the L - which was signed in his name - so that those on the L who are critical of me can also use your "bait" as a way to do further attacks on me. Tombong Saidy, I sincerely believe that you might have even convinced Pap Cheyassin Secka that now was a very good time to deny writing that e-mail, so that more people on the L, can attack me, or question my integrity. Well, Tombong, I can assure you that the members of L are smarter than you. For three weeks now, the e-mail, purportedly written by "Cheyassin Secka" was on the L, and neither you nor Cheyassin Secka himself denied owning it until now, when I am the subject of attention/controversy on the L. So, Tombong, you have come again to divide the list. By the way, tell me, this time around, who is your "bait" meant for? Who do you want to catch? Tombong Saidy, you can never succeed in tarnishing my integrity, not this time around. Anyway, the good thing is that there are some many computer experts on Gambia L these days; so they can easily track down or trace where the e-mail in question had come from. They may not know who wrote it, but they can easily trace where the e-mail in question, was sent from. And, in fact, if you look at the caption of that e-mail purportedly written by "Cheyassin Secka", I had put Cheyassin's name IN QUOTES: "Cheyassin Secka". And even if you look at the caption of very posting you sent today - reproduced below - and which posting I am now reacting to, you'll see that Cheyassin Secka's name was in fact in quotes: "Cheyassin Secka" So, even assuming that SoS Cheyassin Secka didn't write the e-mail in question, I still haven't committed any wrong journalistically once his name was put in quotes - "Cheyassin Secka". But I suppose you wouldn't know this rule/precept in Journalism, because you are not a trained one. Why not ask Jainaba Nyang or Bora Mboge to lecture you on this one? In conclusion, I call on Momodou Camara, Manjie Nyang, Yusupha Jow, Katim Touray to check the IP number of the e-mail in question, and report to the L where it came from. They may not know who wrote the e-mail in question if the real Cheyassin Secka claimed that he did not write it; but they will surely know where the e-mail was actually sent from. They will, for sure, know the machine from where it was sent from. And, Gambia-L, given the content of the e-mail in question - and also having regard to its explicit nature - I am convinced that it indeed came from Cheyassin himself or an insider in the Ministry of Justice. Saul Khan: I saw your comments on the Ebou Taal saga, but I believe you missed the point. I reacted to Mambuna Bojang on the grounds of principles. Sal Taal sent me a private e-mail and asked me, in the name of "transparency", to forward it to the L. He also wrote clearly that he was "awaiting" my reply. Now, Saul Khan, consider this: Salieu Taal's castigating e-mail was on the L for two days, but neither you nor Mambuna Bojang wrote anything to the effect that Sal's e-mail shouldn't have been sent to the L. I am sure a few members of the L were in fact happy that I was being attacked in that manner. Now, when it was my turn to reply Salieu, I was now being told by Mambuna that I should have sent my e-mail to Sal privately. What is the justification here? Why didn't you or Mambuna come out and object when Sal or his sister sent in their e-mails? You read both Sal's and Fatou Taal's insulting e-mails without saying nothing for two days at least, but when it was my legal right to reply, you and Mambuna came out to lecture me on the laws of privacy. Don't get me wrong: I believe the two of you had a valid point to make, but I am questioning the timing your postings came. And postings were addressed to me alone, none was addressed to Sal or his sister Frankly, if Mambuna, or you, wrote your observation immediately after Sal's or Fatou's e-mails were posted to the L, then I could have understood. But you kept quiet for two days until when I replied and now you want to lecture me on the laws of privacy. Where is the fairness here? You see my point? Anyway, I hope we can now move on and join efforts/hands to try and unseat the dictator in Kanilai. Mambuna Bojang, my apologies to you nonetheless if you found my earlier comments offensive. As I always say, The Gambia is a small society and we are all one big family. So we must demand to live in continued peace and harmony. I was in fact "surprised" last night when someone called me from London to say that you are Amie Bojang-Sissoho's brother. Well, Amie was a colleague and a good sister for that matter. In fact, very recently, I went to visit her when she came from Southampton, UK, to spend a weekend at Ndey Jobarteh's flat. So I'll call ask her later this afternoon and ask her to make peace between the two of us.
