Hello Beran, You raised a very important aspect of democracy up for debate. I will send you my views in the A.M. I am sleepy now and my ignorance is running high. I just want to leave you with this observation that democracy is not a linear process and the debate must not be centered towards a structural framework but principles of democracy and the role of contradictions within this principle. The relationships between western democracy and third world democracy must be qualitatively explored with keen interest in explaining how contradictions have helped in destroying South African democracy when American businesses and government boast of being the best functional democracy of our time. These relationships will demonstrate a better understanding of the role contradictions have in the democratic process of a nation. Good Night. Keep the ball rolling. Sincerely, Matarr Sajaw. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
