Mr. Sallah, I agree entirely with the sentments expressed in this letter. To any rational being, this should be a wake up call. But given the combination of arrogance and ignorance of our nation's leadership, I wouldn't be surprised if they totally ignore this very sound approach. There's nothing worse than having an unstable leader, because in any situation, it should be the leader who stops others from making inflammatory remarks. But in today's Gambia, it's the "leader" who declares that his opponents will be buried six feet deep, and that his supporters should rat on opposition supporters in the civil service so they could be expunged. Considering the extra-judicial killings (summary executions if you ask me,) and disappearances that have become part of daily life in Gambia, it's obvious that this mad man means what he's says. How does one reason with such a person? For now, I guess we all HAVE TO pray. Our nation really needs it as it teeters on the brink of total anarchy.
