I have over 30 chemistry text books some as late as 2000 edition that I would like to send to the Gambia. I preferably would like them to go Gambia High School since it is the the school that puts more emphasis on the sciences as far as I know (with the lower and upper six science classes). I am not sure if this is the case still since the academic system has been changed. As far as Gambia college, I do not know the whether they offer advanced courses in Chemistry. Most of these books are freshman chemistry books which can be just fine for a student in the final year of high school. Upper six is basically same level as freshman year. I remember a while back, GESO had sent some materials to the Gambia, but I do not know how they went about it. I am seeking advice from GESO and other members of the gambia-l in fulfilling this arduous task. If there in a mechanism in place, I will solicit some more books from other professors around my Department. Feel free to give any feedback on this. Of course I am bias towards GHS because it is my almamater..for the sake of those who went to SAHS Numukunda Darboe ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Department of Chemistry Univ. of Mississippi University, MS 38677 662 915 7561 (work) http://www.olemiss.edu/~ndarboe (home page) ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
