Dampha, I'm with you all the way! All I'll advice you is to get used to such outrages. When you really try to be truthful in our culture, you get called "a hater," "envious," "a loser," "crazy" etc, etc, only because people don't want to hear the truth. A few months ago, Abdu Kabir Njie posted a master piece (in my opinion) to the L titled "Good v. Evil" in which the gentleman spelt out exactly what we're dealing with here:"good" V. "evil." The simple question then is: where do YOU stand? Are you sticking with "good" or are you joining "evil" regardless of WHO symbolizes that? Those who are still ambivalent could learn a few things from Jabou Joh when she declared very poignantly that as it is, there simply can't be any more "fence-sitting": You're either "for" or "against" the evil going on back home. Jabou is no friend of mine, but I have tremendous respect for her stance considering that she has sacrificed personal relationships to speak out against the madness we're dealing with here. Now, that's something to look up to! Regarding Ebrima Manneh's response, we can argue about whether Makalo was killed or not, or where he was buried. But, what is an established FACT is that, the guy's father Alh. Tabora Manneh is a major supporter of Yaya Jammeh to this day! At the very least, Alh Tabora is one of a few businessmen who continue to give comfort to this evil govt that does nothing but kill, rape, loot from and maim our people. But instead of the "decent" Tabora Manneh's behavior being the issue, his son who cares so much about justice that he's willing to go home and investigate himself, is accusing someone else of impugning his father's name. What an intrigue! Why can't Manneh Jr. use his siblings to exert pressure on their dad to distance himself away from this Yaya monster? But then, if you want to take advantage of a govt's "For Sales" - compounds, hotels, etc, it's hard to snub the president. Isn't it? Some people are just unbelieveable! So KB, do like I do: go buy one of those "Soothing/Calm" Herbal Tea packs and cool down. Pretend you've never heard of this guy. If people like him can live with the fact that their parents are on the side of the DEVIL, then people like us should be able to live with their ridiculous distractions. That's all I can tell you. Saul. >Elhajj, I regret bringing this thing to G_L. Mr. Manneh sent us this >correspondence in private and I think that he might have had his own reason ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
