Jammeh, in your meeting with the youth action group, you talked about how you risked your life to save Gambia and the roads, schools, hospitals, etc, you constructed. I want to make the following observatios: Firstly, who asked you to risk your life. Nobody. Did you realise that you also put the lives of Gambians at risk when you staged the coup? If it had gone wrong how many innocent people would have died? So every Gambian's life was at risk in one way or the other. So the whole country deserves credit for this, not you alone. Secondly, you always talk about schools, hospitals, etc, built. You are president. Thats what you are suppossed to do. So you are just doing your job. You cannot take credit for that. You will not hear Clinton or any past US president boasting about building roads, etc. The bread and butter issuea are the most important. You are allegedly receiving D26000 per month. Your ministers D16000. However, you guys do not pay rent or pay for transport. You and your ministers always travel, so per diems are always there. An average gambian worker earns about D1500. From this they pay rent, buy food, pay transport, etc. You promised them pay rise but you have made good the promise. Food prices and transport cost are rising. So has the condition of the average worker improved? This is the real issue. How about arch 22. How has it benefitted the gambia. Its only benefit is blocking access to that end of independence drive. The airport? Next time you come to the states, take a good look at JFK and you will know what a good airport is all about. The north bank road project is in shambles. The way the kerewan bridge is built and their inability to take care of baobolon makes one wonder whether engineers are tyhe ones building the road. Farafenni hospital is illequipped, understaffed and full of mosquitoes. As for you Saja Taal before telling the UDP to stop making prejudicial comments about the URD incident, why not tell Jammeh stop making comments about April 10 and 11 incidents. It is also under investigation. ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
