am hereby forwarding an update on the Dumo arrest from the wife Annika Reagards Saihou Omar Friends, I tried yesterday, but was interrupted by NAWEC's maintenance program that suddenly cut my access. Anyway - Yesterday our lawyers - Ebrima Joof & Bah Tambadou - went to the High Court to file the case and call the Chief of Police, the Head of NIA and the Attorney General (Justitieministern) to answer to the Judge if they have Dumo in their custody. The lawyers believe that this will take place latest on Monday. Since I also was in Banjul I took the opportunity to pass by the CID (Criminal Investigation Department office at the Police HQ) to ask about any progress in their investigation. "Sorry madam, nothing. But we are working on it." I also passed the gatekeeper at NIA - "No, madam, he is not here" and the AG's office to find out if his written response to my letter was ready - "No, not yet". In the morning I also filed an appeal at the Office of the Ombudsman and a formal one to the Secretary General of the Commission of Peoples and Human Rights. That's all so far. Thanks everybody for your support, Annika ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
