Ms Sigga Jagne, Your observations on the latest tragic incident is very correct. The creation of these youth wings originated from Tripoli, Libya. During the AFPRC transistion period, on about July 1995, the Libyan intelligence chief Musa Koussa and his deputy Moctar Gannass offered the services of the Libyan security establishment to train and equip a "political cadre" modeled after the Revolutionary wings of the Jamahiriyia in Libya. The training was in two phases: the first phase recruits and cultivates a thoroughly indoctinated (brainwashed) cadre that is loyal only to the "Leader" of course Yaya. The second phase complements the first, with more emphasis on the cadre's dedication, unquestionable loyalty to Yaya and training in "active measures". These active measures are very clandestine and controlled directly by Yaya Jammeh through Baba Jobe. The AFRC Youth Wing cadre (which is still the same as the former July 22 Movement) are dispersed all over the country into "cells" that collect political intelligence and report periodically to Baba Jobe. Active measures, a derivative of the former KGB's "aktivnyye meropriatia" are an array of covert and overt techniques for influencing events and behaviour i.e propaganda, political sabotage, forgeries, political violence and direct provocation of the opposition to engage in a melee. From now till the "elections" these immoral acts will continue with more intensity targeting any credible opposition, or civil society that poses the slightest resistance to the AFRC. Their ultimate aim is to instill fear in the general population, paralyze any opposition activity or seriously jeopardize the intergrity of any opposition (the Darboe case is a quintessential example), and finally sell to the public an AFRC candidate un-opposed in the presidential "election". This active measures strategy has been first perfected in Ghana with Rawlings under the tutelage of Capt Kotjo Ksikata (rtd) ( another Libyan agent like Baba Jobe; he use to frequent the State House to guide his "junior revolutionaries), then in Burkina Fasso, under Capt Blaise Campoare who usually wins "elections" with 99% of the vote, and recently in Liberia under Charles Taylor another Libyan/Taiwanese agent. Now it is Gambia's turn, under another lackey of Col Mummar Qaddafi's imperialistic enterprise. Folks it is time to restore honour and dignity to our beloved motherland.
