I guess this is another indication of President Jammeh's "maa tey" (I damn do it?) politics. It's time that the international community take his comments seriously. His open racism, his sneering and arrogant attitude towards Gambians should not be ignored. Mr. Jammeh has so far flouted all rules of decent human behavior and work ethics. Yet, he still picks up his pay check at the end of the month!

I've just learnt that the local government elections slated for November have been postponed indefinitely.  The next on the line may be the general and presidential elections. Just the other day, the UDP leader Mr. Darboe was quoted by the Daily Observer as saying that he supports President Jammeh's call for African unity. These conciliatory remarks may not help the situation. It is evident that Mr. Jammeh is not serious about his pan-Africanist dreams; if he were, he would start by cleaning up his own house, which is in total disarray.

As Ousman Bojang hinted Mr. Jammeh's increasing paranoia needs to be addressed by competent medical personnel. At one moment he would swear by the Holy Qur'an, and the next he will be worshipping his ancestral bees and offering libation mixed with chicken blood. I hope we see the split personality here.

Hamadi.
