This was culled from the the Rag Newspaper, Observer: Forbes magazine to cover The Gambia Following the passing of the Africa Trade Bill last May in the US Congress, United States and international entrepreneurs, readers of Forbes and Forbes Global Magazine have increasingly shifted their interest towards the African continent. A team of Forbes Global journalists; Ms Marisa Mueller, Mr Xavier Bruneau and Mr Germain Fauquet have arrived in Banjul to cover The Gambia in order to prepare a full economic survey on the country. Speaking to Daily Observer, Germain Fauquet said, "This report, which will be published in the December 25, 2000 international issue of Forbes magazine, will surely enhance world-wide awareness in The Gambia and hence encourage sought after direct investments in public companies of The Gambia that are earmarked for privatisation." Marisa Mueller added, "Our special country report will also be present online at www.winnie.com, creating a unique multimedia report on The Gambia, including interviews with the president, vice-president, ministers and main players in the public and private business communities. The growth of this country and its integration in this new era of globalisation and internet communications makes it indispensable for The Gambia to participate in similar reports." Forbes magazine was founded in 1916 and is regarded as the leading business magazine in the US. The editor-in-chief of the magazine is Steve Forbes, a Republican party presidential candidate. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -------------------------------------------- Fellow Gambians, especially those in the USA, let's floods Forbes Magazine with the true picture of Gambia and its current ragtag leaders, by unmasking these scoundrels. Sensational journalism at the expense of massacred-school children, will not be tolerated at any expense. Please extend your outrage to the Editors of Forbes Magazine for undertaking such PR/DIRTY WORK for Yahya Jammeh, instead of Gambia or Gambians. The Movement will gather pertinent contact phone #'s, email or faxes for Forbes magazine and will forward it to the L. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html You may also send subscription requests to [log in to unmask] if you have problems accessing the web interface and remember to write your full name and e-mail address. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
