Did you read Ndey Jobarteh's story. If so and you still think that it is not an important issue? You still want your sisters to go through this?

> I think we should focus our mind on meaningful developments towards our

So the mutilation of our girls are not important? One thing you seem to forget here is that these girls are part of the future. And they play the most important role in the "meaningful developments" that is -they are the future mothers. They would be carrying the very people that would be continuing the "meaningful developments" you are talking about. Once again it just shows how some of us think so little about the important role women play in "meaningful developments".

There are so many issues we just shy away because we cannot change them, until some outside picks them up and then we get angry because who is she/he to tell us what to do. But what do we do about it?

> I know my ideas will be odd to some people

Oh no not odd. Just makes us aware that we have lot of work to do and makes us more determined to go on.

> but I will let you know that

Ditto. And you still think that we should just drop the issue? I see som contradiction here. So what happened to our write to express ourselves?

FGM is here to stay. Whether we take it on Gambia-L or not. There arre so many people working so hard about this issue.
