It is unfortunate that the Gambia-L is being used as a front for personal attacks.I was surprised to read Isatou Njie's piece on the above subject. The phrase used by Astrid, " it's for the dogs" is a common phrase and a figure of speech meaning 'It is not a good quality'. The Christensen's are very prominent and respectable family, who have contributed to the development of the Gambia. The late Mr. Eric Christensen was one of those who during the colonial era contributed immensely to the attainment of independence for the Senegal and the Gambia. He was one of those few African administrators who work for both the French and the British Governments. He was the first secretary General of the Gambia Government, and he created a civil service that was second to none in West Africa and to some extend Africa as a whole. Ms. Njie, I believe you did not know the Christensen family, it a serious mistake to say that the family look like a 'BULL DOG.'Please let us respect each other and try to know each other better. We must use the GAMBIA-L to discuss and debate issues affecting our homeland.
