Saul - Help me out on those lectures. "If you have no history worth mentioning, you have no humanity worth protecting." May the revelations about the achievements of the Black Race, and yes, the Human Race continue!!! I have an impressionable 10 year old boy whom I'm raising in an environment where his very essence, his SELF, is questioned and negated on a daily basis. I am not even talking about the larger society, but that micro society called SCHOOL where our kids are being killed "... before they grow" on a daily basis. 75% of our kids are failing Math basics in elementary school; school boundaries are drawn up to further bunch up "non-achievers" , mainly immigrant kids, where there is no variation in what the kids bring to class. Signature programs are being removed from largely minority schools areas, putting them in largely middle class school zones to discourage middle-class flight! Therefore, every encouragement, every factual and documented achievement by black people can only be a source of inspiration for our children and they can aspire to better these great people of the human race. With a Dutch Name from Guyana, but African in the true sense of being African, He grew up, studied and hated everything African in himself until he discovered giants like Camara Lye, Theophille O'benga and Cheikh Anta Diop who shocked the European world when they addressed UNESCO on Africa's origin of civilization. If you need a collection of his tapes, call WBAI Radio Archives @ [212] 209-2900 and donate $$ for copies of his lecture series. If you are a student, send me a personal email and I'll hook you up with one or two. Very empowering tapes. The first word sent down to the Holy Prophet Muhammad [SWAT] was IQRA meaning Read/Say. Knowledge is power. Each one teach one and each one reach one.
