He who bites the finger that feed him, is not only stupid, but lacks a fundamental essence of humanity, appreciation. You appreciate the involvement of people in your life particularly those who shared their knowledge and expertise with you, to make you knowledgeable at no cost to you. Your lack of appreciation for such honourable efforts, shows your ungratefulness, unrespectfulness and ignorance. Remember you can learn all the books there is to learn, yet, your teacher knows better. PDOIS may not be the most popular political party, they sure are the pioneers of political awareness in the Gambia. This fact cannot be denied them. So, give the devil its due, give them the credit! Remember that while decree 89 took active and popular politicians under-foot, it was PDOIS who refused to be silenced and stood their grounds, come what may. Talk about political maturity, believing in oneself, wanting to serve selflessly and practising what you preach. While the efforts and achievement of the London based Democratic Movement are applauded, the stance of PDOIS is to be respected. Travelling all the way to the UK to brief a British MP lacks merits to PDOIS. If the purpose is different from their opinion, what is wrong with informing them, letting them know the real purpose and its significance to the furtherance of democracy in the Gambia? This may have changed their entire perception of the gathering. On the contrary, it is not helping calling names. The debate will only degenerate. Opinions are properties belonging to persons, democracy empowers them to be used freely. However , in expressing your opinion you should exercise maturity. Digest every bit of information received and then act upon it. Do not be a remote controlled intellectual, who only acts when a certain person acts, or like a zombie, moves only when asked. Pls digest it first and then act! goodnite.
