This past Saturday, one of the largest Gambian communities in the Diaspora,
in Atlanta, Georgia; was able to put their differences behind them and formed
a one based Community Organization, United Gambian Organizations of
Atlanta(UGOA).

Under the respected leadership of elders within the community:Mr..Saihou
Njie, Mr.Sainey Faye, Mr.Omar Khan, Mr..Albouri Njie, Auntie Kuntumie, and
members of other organizations, a new community organization is born. A new
drafted constitution was adopted, available upon request to all members of the
community and would be posted on the web site very soon. Also the much
waited July Fourth 2001 planning is underway, and program activities for
July Fourth 2001 weekend will be out very soon. The July Fourth weekend will
be July 04, on wednesday to July 08, 2001, on Sunday. For all inquiries
about July Fourth 2001, can be forwarded to [log in to unmask], attention:

Thanks to all the Organizations and elders of the community for their hard
work and support in bringing about a united community. Also, thanks to all
organizations in the Diaspora for their advice and resources utilized to
bring about a new direction in the Atlanta community.

Kindest Regards:

Mr.Saihou Njie
