Pa Ali and Ebrima, thanks for the feed-back. Pa Ali, I must tell you that I did not think about the Pre-1994 era. I was mainly focusing on the moneys Yaya and his cohorts looted from the Gambian poor. But you brought up a good point. We should look into recovering all the ill-gotten gains (pre and post-1994). But allow me to reiterate that the emphasis here would be different. Rather than looking at people as guilty first and shifting the burden on them to prove their innocence; rather than seizing property willy-nilly out of jealousy, we will zoom in on specific corruption cases we can prove in court. For example, the Taiwan millions, the Nigerian Crude Oil, the bribes from CSE, Yaya's plane, Baabaa Jobe's crimes, Tarik Musa's and Amadou Samba's 'sweat-heart' deals etc. We will build up solid cases against the vermin and then seize their properties in order to benefit the rightful owners (the Gambian poor). When we pass the legislation to form the office of the special prosecutor, we can give him/her mandate to look into pre-1994 matters as well. Having said that, I hope the prosecutor will have the good sense to use his/her discretion and prioritize. It is better to go after a US $20 million Swiss account opened by Yaya and his cohorts than to go after the 'crumbs' the PPP people have been accused of stealing. The moneys Yaya stole from us, will go a long way to alleviate poverty in our country. Ebrima, I am glad that you are willing to resume your series. We should not be discouraged by the way we read the situation on the ground in certain instances. I must confess that things get a bit demoralizing at times, but we have to persevere. Contrary to what you think, I believe that your contributions have immense impact on the ground. Some of the impact is immeasurable. We have to keep hammering. The good message will not be stifled. The way I approach these things is, I will do my part and hope and pray that the intended audience also does its part. Since we cannot force anyone to swallow our ideas, let us just put out a persuasive argument and hope for the best. The truth will eventually prevail. Again, I thank you and Pa Ali for your tremendous contributions.
