BANJUL, July 13 (AFP) - Gambian security officers Friday
interrogated a Frenchman on suspicion of spying on the United States
embassy building in the capital Banjul, police said.
The man, whose identity was not released, had been caught last
week photographing the mission on the outskirts of town, according
to a report in the newspaper The Independent.
The report said embassy guards had apprehended him and handed
him over to Gambian security.
A police officer said the enquiry was "following its course."
