Dampha, The narrow mindedness and vulgarity you tried on Kebba Jobe did not work and so will not work for Gassa. You may jump into the gutter with Yus and whoever wishes. Fact of the matter is that the past few days have shown the whole L what your idea of a free Gambia is. The archives of the L are there for all to see your inconsistencies about your opposition to this regime. You have accused me in the past of trying to sow discord within your ranks while conveniently ignoring short comings of the opposition. This is plain hypocrisy. If some of the short comings of the opposition that I had raised in the past were honestly looked into, some of the inconsitencies showing up now and all this hulla balloo would not have been the case. The narrow mindedness, dishonesty, lies and naivety that you and Yusupha Jow displayed these past days is enough to satisfy some of us that atleast some of you are begining to see through your twisted logic. It is very ironic that some of you who accuse this government of intollerance to disenting views and dictatorship, cannot even accept constructive critism from within your own ranks? What sort of democracy are you people yearning for the country? Remember ALES? But don't worry, I have already made arrangements with Makaveli for some of you to have your heads examined. Finally, do you rmember when I cautioned you about jubilating too soon when you received insider information that there was an all opposition party coalition? You LIED here that indeed there was a unified opposition coalition. What is the reality now and who has been lying here then. When I predicted here that there will not be an opposition coalition/alliance I said so knowing how blinded by fury and desperation some in the opposition were. This October will be a very significant mildstone for Gambians and it is incumbent upon all of us to ensure that it is handled in the best interest of our country. Angry utterances and incitement is the last thing we need. If, instead of selling a programme to uplift us from the depth of poverty and ignorance, you instead want to wallow in empty rhetorics such as Jammeh is the worst that has ever happened to Gambia, so lets close our eyes replace him with anyone. Are you for real? If you want to get rid of Yahya, you must offer us more than rhetoric. People want development and not stagnation. Narrow minded bigotry will not create the atmosphere needed for Gambians to brainstorm for solutions to our woes. I was quite busy browsing through the archives and guess what, most of the meaningless squablings had you in the thick of things. You seem to think that you have a monpoly of ideas and the truth. That is the problem with you. it is just unfortunate that even Yus who back in may was cautioning against this "herd mentality" is now in the thick of things. Yus, I will not follow you to the gutter for now for reasons best known to me. However it is in your best interest to maintain whatever crdibility you had as you never know when you will need it. By now, you should have a very good idea of how I think. I just don't speak for the sake of speaking, I research whatever I say here and refrain as much as possible from getting involved in what I don't know much about. I advise you do the same. Gambia is a very small place and believe you me, "do not take lids off cans of worms, for everything is connected to everything else". I know when some of you are cornered, instead of doing the honorable thing by acknowledging the facts you tend to resort to name calling and personal insults. Always remember that nobody has a monpoly of that. Have a good day, Gassa. >From: Dampha Kebba <[log in to unmask]> >Reply-To: The Gambia and related-issues mailing list ><[log in to unmask]> >To: [log in to unmask] >Subject: Re: Calling All Comrades To Please Cease Fire >Date: Thu, 30 Aug 2001 13:13:07 -0400 > >Yusupha, I would first of all urge you NOT to pay heed to Gassama’s >desperate attempts to pit you against me.
