Mr. Gassama, Certainly, announcements of the nature you descibed are meant for public consumption and I thank you for disseminating it, although I would rather have seen the task assumed by GIPFZA proper. Investors interested in doing business in The Gambia would like to get assurances from Government and the Authority that the Investment Code in place is investor-friendly which can only be responded to, in an authoritative manner, by none other than the Agency charged with the responsibility of promoting investment. Meanwhile, please check the e-mail address provided because as I mentioned in my follow-up posting (entitled - "Mr. Gassama: I spoke too soon") I sent a message to the CEO's address you provided and I recei ved a delivery failure notice. Before I close this chapter, I wish to assure you that neither did I intend to question your right to express your views nor to imply that you are representing the official position of Government. All I am suggesting to you is to let the GIPFZA take it from here. Date: Sat, 4 Aug 2001 19:46:03 +0000 Mr. Sanneh, This is a full page advertisement in the Gambia Daily and Gambia Daily Observer newspapers, which I was discussing with a friend who wanted to know whether investment regime we have in place in Gambia today is any different from the bureaucracy that i s encountered in my developing countries. Having sent him this by private email a few days back, I thought there might be others, especially amongst Gambians abroad who may be interested to know about it. As it has been in circulation in the papers for many weeks I would have assumed that it was meant for public consumption and dessimation. Like I said before, I don't represent any official view, rather my views and my views alone. Anyway I appreciate your comments for which I thank you very much. Have a good day, Gassa. >From: Sidi Sanneh <[log in to unmask]> >Reply-To: The Gambia and related-issues mailing list ><[log in to unmask]> >To: [log in to unmask] >Subject: Re: Investing in Gambia made simple. >Date: Sat, 4 Aug 2001 14:20:12 -0500 > >Dear Mr. Gassama, > >In what capacity are you sending this information on G IPFZA?
