As the saying goes " A fool and his money are soon parted", it appears that the Butcher of Kanilai has been done. Is it a coincidence that President Jammeh's disposition and acts reflects former Dictator Idi Amin's actions, or does Yaya Jammeh has the propensities to act in like manner? or indeed is acting in like manner. I just stumble into an article about Idi Amin and I found many similarities between the two, very much similarities that if their body build was not different, I would swear that he Idi is the Gambian President. My observations rested amonmg other things, the various accolades and awards conferred on both, the building of Palaces, the intimidation meted out to their own people by so called Security Service Agents, the Hiring and Firing at will of state functionaries, detention, incarceration and beating of political opponents, the emptying of Central Bank coffers for personal use without due authority and a plethora of human rights abuses too many to be listed. What surprises me most was the two dictators reliance on President Ghadaffi and Cuban support to consolidate their power. It appears to me that Gambians are dealing with a very dangerous man who should not be underestimated at all. I hope when President Jammeh's end is nigh, the Gambia wont experience the same situation as Uganda and that the fool's ill-gotten wealth will be recovered by the Gambian People.
