Abdou: Nice piece. Few things are clear from your summation. 1. All parties have to set aside personal interests and instead work together for the common good of the Gambian people. Their goal should be to remove Jammeh. This way, history and the Gambian populace will judge our Opposition leaders kindly. 2. Compromises have to be made by parties. As you stressed, in a negotiation, someone/something always gives. And to this effect, some parties involved will have to make sacrifices to make things work. But if pt 1 is considered, they should understand that concessions to make a complete Alliance work are imperative. 3. Lastly, like many of us have stressed, this is not the time to draw lines in the sand. The negotiations need be reconvened.
