GNA officer kills two and commits suicide

A twenty-six year old military officer, Amadou Jallow, last Saturday
committed suicide after killing one Sarjo Faye Jatta, a resident of
Tallinding and seriously wounding his cousin, Sheriff Mboge who at press
time was reported to have passed away yesterday at the Royal Victoria
Hospital in Banjul. A relative of the deceased officer said the incident
happened Saturday night at Sheriff's residence at London Corner in
Serrekunda.
Although details of the circumstances surrounding the incident are not
entirely forthcoming, police crime co-ordinator, Superintendent Abou Njie
confirmed the story and disclosed that the police were liaising with the
military to investigate the incident. The army public relations officer,
Lieutenant Gano was not available for comment but a personnel at the
headquarters confirmed the incident and said the military was doing all it
could to know the cause or causes of the tragedy. --The Daily Observer

My Heartfelt condolences to the Jatta family and the Jallow and Mboge family
in Niamina Dankunku for the tragedy.
May the souls of the deceased rest in eternal peace.
