Aunty Jabou,Kebba Dampha,Comrade Jassey-Conteh, and the rest It was great to hear SM Dibba's explanation. After careful consideration, I don't think it is sensible for anyone of us to start this business of castigating the likes of SM Dibba and PDOIS. If we are genuinely committed to the struggle of removing Yahya Jammeh from State House-through the ballot box, then the onus lies on us to start formulating strategies for the Opposition. From my understanding, Mr SM Dibba does not appear to be against the idea of Ousainou Darboe being choosen as Presidential Candidate for the Alliance, what he is concerned about is the way and manner in which Darboe was selected for nomination. Notwithstanding my unreserved support for the United Democratic Party, I still think the business of nominating Darboe as Presidential Candidate was done hastily. We are talking about an Alliance for all opposition parties, so how come the likes of PDOIS and others were not given ample opportunity to present their case. Judging from SM Dibba's Press Conference, I think a lot has been learn here. The man wants an alliance as long as it is done in a "democratic fashion". Since this is the situation, all of us should petition all the opposition parties to reconvene and discuss formalities for a Democratic Alliance of Opposition Parties. On that note I would urge all those concerned about a united opposition to start drafting a petition to the likes of Dibba and other politicians i.e Sidia Jatta, Halifa Sallah and others to negotiate with Mr Assan Musa Camara for the formation of an effective Alliance for the Opposition Parties.
