We have to stop the finger-pointing, blaming and effectively, sidetracking us from the real issue: A COLLECTIVE AND FOCUSED COALITION. During the ALD/Gambia at the crossroad symposium, Mr. Ousainou Darboe and Halifa Sallah were engaged on the same coalition topic and for almost thirty minutes, asked each other questions on the parameters and agreements on the how/when/where such consultative engagements be pursued. Being fair to the other opposition party leader, then, Amat Bah, since Decree 89 was still in effect against [PPP, NCP, GPP], both leaders agreed to table the topic and upon returning to Banjul, would continue the consultation and exploratory mechanisms. Again, during our meeting last Sunday, one of the most active but always quite/shy member of the movement, spoke up and faulted/blamed us for not only following up with Mr. Darboe and Sallah, but also, failed to contact/pettitioined all the opposition parties day after the draconian decree 89, was lifted. Going through the L archives, some of us had been raising the red flag and painting such calculated scenarios [opposition parties infighting] happening, a la Yahya Jammeh's tactics, WISE FOOL. This temporary glitch in our political forecast, should reenergized and redirect all our collective efforts at finishing the 4 x 400 relay, as we are on the last lap. If the Soviet Union/Russia [EAST] and the USA [WEST] can muster their ego and scrutinize their differences and find common ground on what joins/benefits/interest them, the rest is history, since both of them understands MAD [MUTUALLY ASSURED DESTRUCTION.] The MAD facing us Gambians in the opposition, is the lack thereof, of our inability to agree to disagree and forge a common ground by understanding the science and political language of POWER, SELF-INTEREST, CONFLICT and COMPROMISE. Even the deaf, dumb and blind Yahya, understands the POWER these coalesced opposition parties garners, hence the reason to misconstrue the opposition's SELF-INTEREST, by creating CONFUSION [Us and Them], this way, COMPROMISE sounds Dutch or seems foreign to us. Perhaps, George Sarr, Katim, Coach, Jabou, Sorry for always picking on you folks and others could start the process of streamlining a world wide petition on these opposition parties, to get their acts together, for the salvation of what we have left, our dignity.
