The Point Monday November 19th Hallo? The Opposition … Hallo? This Is Our Message The UDP has done it; they have resumed political activity with their recent rally at New Jeswang last Saturday. During the rally, Darboe spoke about the gunning down of young Ousman Ceesay, challenging the authorities to investigate the matter which, he claimed, involved soldiers he described as Jammeh’s. On Jammeh’s score in the presidential poll of 18th October, Darboe posited that the President was only able to pull 52%, adding that if Roberts didn’t mess up with the registration, the President would have been in the opposition by now. Interesting! Jammeh, leader of the Opposition! Can someone imagine for one moment such a democratic posture? Anyway, back to reality. And the reality on the ground is that Jammeh is the president-elect and he is preparing his people for the next parliamentary election and wants his party to capture more seats. So, the opposition is warned; it must be up to the challenge. BY THE WAY, NO OPPOSITION PARTY HAS SO FAR REACTED TO THE CALL FOR A UNITED OPPOSITION FROM “CONCERNED GAMBIANS IN THE DIASPORA”(MY EMPHASIS) Hamat Bah is proposing solutions to Gambia’s ECOWAS bid and we hope Government would take heed and address the issues raised by the NRP leader _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp <<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>> To view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html To contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to: [log in to unmask] <<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>
