Mr Dibba, Thanks for the reply and reassurance that SM Dibba is looking out for the interest of The Gambia. Please be rest assured that I take your comments in good faith. Mr Dibba, you made good examples of the USA and Israel as to opposing candidates coming together to better their respective nations. However, you cannot use those examples to justify or rationalize what goes on in The Gambia. We are dealing with different personalities here. I too would have accepted Jammehs "olive branch" if he had shown some tolerance towards members of the opposition or well-meaning in his pronouncements. If you are familiar with Jammeh's government, you will realize that it is a one man show. Everything is according to the whimps and caprices of Jammeh and his top minions. Jammeh continues to lock people up, fire civil servants willy nilly and practice blatant nepotism. There are so many wrongs with the Jammeh administration and many a decent Gambian will not be part of it. The way I see it, either Dibba compromises his stance or the union will be shortlived. Regarding Dibbas pronouncements on the elections, I think he is wrong in saying that this election was free and fair. With all the irregularities associated with this election, having him declaring it free and fair is mind-boggling and reeks of dishonesty at best. We may not have all the facts but I dont think I have to wait till Dibba jumps ship before saying what I think. All the signs of those who cross-carpeted are there. However, I will wait and see. In jammehs government, there is no room for symbiosis.
