Mr.Owen's Thank you for making some observations on the above subject as per my last posting refers.I will attempt to give you my version and ofcourse resort to those that the criteria originated from, in order for the latter to shed more light on some of the points raised therein. On the payment of D5000.00 per candidate:My understanding is that the committee is refering to the deposit that a chosen candidate may pay thus to be finally qualified to contest. If my memory serves me right i believe that was the same amount paid by other selected candidates during the last parliamentary elections(?),howvever if the contrary stands then the committee itself will be contacted to shed light on that point. On the double nationality issue:Well... i am yet to hear or come accross any indication be it politically or legally motivated that the constitutional amendment has been abandoned as spelt out in your posting... The latest that i heard about was that a referendum was in the making.A date is yet to be slated though. So lets wait for the outcome of any referendum on that particular subject before concluding that the process has been "abandoned".However,on the 21/18 years cum the current constitution,i agree with your obseravtion to an extent because all citizens are governed by the constitution(legally speaking).Although the party itself has a manifesto to depend on especially where the committee itself is "purely" a political body REPRESENTING THE APRC'S interest and not a generalised one. For the slogan you refered to,ie:"EMPOWERMENT OF THE PEOPLE" i can recall having seen the same on the jammeh2001.org's website but does that mean it represents the party's motto on the manisfesto or...? As far as i am concerned that slogan is one out of many that are usually thrown out by political parties be they APRC Or not. There is a diffrence between slogans, regulations and principles. Mr.Owens once again thank you for your time and observations and i hope i have tried to share some ideas with your goodself. YEROMAMA.
