Fellow Gambians and friends of Gambia,

 

I will focus this commentary on one part of Kiki Jagne's rhetoric at the U.N.

Comments on the entire speech and perspective will follow later.

 

Kiki went to great lengths to identify with the U.S in the wake of the terrorist attack and he offered Yaya's decree of national mourning in sympathy to Americans.

 

On joining the rest of the active coalition's fight against the scourge and nourishment of terrorism, Kiki says the UN and the US must ask "Gambia" what it needs in terms of materielle and logistical support in order to demonstrate "Gambia's" resolve in the fight.

 

Let's see what the US meant by purging the ranks of the UN of rogue states.

 

Do not provide safe havens to terrorists.

Do not issue official travel document to terrorists.

Do not accept bribes of mosque and church building in order to do the bidding of the terrorist.

Do not facilitate commerce in blood diamonds by offering safe passage of the blood gems via Gambia and use millenium plane for its conduit.

Do not sell your soul to the devil because you will forever be indebted to him. Ask the Mujahiddin and Taliban. By the way Kandahar has fallen.

 

Now let's see what "Gambia" is engaged in without materielle aid from the west.

 

Gambian citizenship and travel documents are issued to citizens of terrorist states.

 

Gambia's state house guard and its National non-intelligence agency arrests Gambians without cause or charge many of whom still languish in decrepit jails. Oh I heard the Taliban released the jailed missionaries.

 

Gambia provides citizenship, safe cross-border passage, and safe harbour to Cassamance terrorists who inflict wanton harm to citizens of Gambia and Senegal and Gambia tries to portray to the world that it is an honest broker of peace. What Munaafiqs?

 

Gambia would fire live amunition to kill and maime its own citizen-students when they demonstrate.

 

Gambia uses part of the gains of its prostitution to send some unassuming citizens to Mecca for the Hajj. Why do you suppose that instead of using those fares and wares to fight widespread poverty and malnutrition, Gambia decides it is better spent halucinating them with a religious holiday? Ask the clients of the prostitute.

 

Gambia does the bidding of Libya, Cuba, and Taiwan by prostituting its voice and vote at the UN. Taiwan is the odd one out. Cuba was rendered terroristically impotent but it remains a facilitator. By taking up the cause of Taiwan, Gambia aims to innoculate itself from the ire of a no-nonsense US because Taiwan's cause is so benign.

 

So what can Gambia do toward the fight against terrorism without materielle and logistical aid from the west? Will the real Kiki stand up and be "reconised"?
