It is heart-breaking to turn a page in any of the gambia's news papers. Rumours of this and rumours of that. The gambias future is  in question. There were a lot of promises the president and his entuarage made country wide during the last presidential elections. Maybe it would be
wise and prudent to take ones more a closer look at the two most significant of the promises.
Promise number one:
The president promised the nation in general and the farmers in particular that farmers groundnut product would be sold on time and if necessary he would use his own personal funds. He promised a better trade season and to my knowledge the trade season is not even made public as yet. Mr president, you lost your crediblity to the farmers and any clear thinking Gambian. It is ramadan mr President the holliest month of the religion that you said you champion so much. The book of you faith says mr president, that one should not promise something that one cannot fulfill. One should not fail people your excellency. Use your personal funds that became personal after robbing the farmers and the civilservants off their
due.Dry their tears, provide them food. BUY THE FARMERS PRODUCTS:
Promise number two:
I must say mr President, the only promise you are fulfilling so far is the promise number two.
Promise number two Mr President was to use your bombastic electric broom to clean the
departments of your party's oponents. Anybody who does not agree with your policies must
go.What is your policy mr President? Is it a policy of promises not kept on  side and others kept. Well it so seems to me that sacking is a promise kept and farmers plight in continuation.
Mr president, help Gambians to build a better Gambia, a Gambia that even if you are long gone you would be remembered as a true son of.
The more you sack, the more uncofortable you will become the more uncertain  and insecure
our beloved nation would be.Keep people at work. Provide more jobs. Create a sense of stability, to win the hearts and minds of the people you claimed to put  your life on the line for.
A better Gambia Mr president a better working enviroment. KEEP THE  PEOPLE AT WORK.
Take care Yahya.
