Monday, November 5, 2001 Tombong Saidy finally fired Bora Mboge takes over as director general Mr Bora Mboge, manager of TV programmes has taken over as acting director general, while Neneh Macdoll, principal producer in charge of the documentary department of GRTS was appointed manager of TV programmes, replacing Mr Bora Mboge. According to sources, Mr Saidy’s termination letter was hand delivered to him on Friday, November 2 at the GRTS offices along Kairaba Avenue. Although no official reasons were forwarded for Mr Saidy’s removal, impeccable sources from within GRTS told the Daily Observer that his sacking could be attributed to a combination of factors, including what some described as abuse of office. It could be recalled Mr Saidy’s dismissal was rumoured in the recent past, citing amongst other reasons his concentration on his personal business at the expense of official duty, administrative incompetence and high handedness. His use of public funds in the name of generating more revenue for GRTS, had resulted in great financial loses to the institution. These include the Fadam -Tyson wrestling contest staged by the GRTS last year and the seemingly never-ending Pajero raffle. _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp <<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>> To view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html To contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to: [log in to unmask] <<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>//\\<<//\\>>
