Brother Simon,

Save your energy and debate with decent and reasonable folk.  The likes of Essa Sey and Pa Modou Gassama are not worth your while.  These twerps are in a permanent state of mental stupor.  For them all the Diasporan opposition are angry cos we were part of or were those who were privileged during Jawara's era.  These drones and knuckleheads are ready to twist and spin our history to suit themselves.  I have never supported Jawara.  I have only voted twice in Gambian elections.  The first time was in 1987 (when i was illegally registered by the PPP at LatriKunda- I voted for Gibou Jagne for MP and Sheriff Dibba for President) and in 1992, i voted PDOIS both for Presidency and parliament. I left Gambia in February 1994 to pursue my educational dreams and for a better living.

In fact, few years ago, at a private lecture at the University College London , i harangued the old man about his legacy in the Gambia.  However, in as much as i deride Jawara's record, there is no way i will compare him with an uncouth, half-witted, murdering imbecile like Jammeh.  We know Jawara's three decades in the Gambia is not an exemplary record. To me that era is for historians to  judge.

Most of us gave the A(F)PRC, the benefit of doubt when they came in 1994.  Out here in London, i use to argue with some of my friends that we should give these boys a chance cos i believed then they were sincere and had a vision for my beloved country.  But November 1994 gave me a sudden awakening and since then i've realised that Gambia have been hijacked by a bunch of thugs and lying thieves.

If few projects are can be use as a barometer for a progressive government, i wonder what Pa Modou Gassama will say concerning Gamtel where he is a Manager.  One of many projects, Gamtel was created by Jawara and the PPP and whatever came of it should be credited to them.  However, we all know that projects or not we measure a country's development by how much its citizenry are faring be it economically, politically etc.

It is very clear that we are worst of seven on since these bilious lot forced themselves upon us regardless of all the so-called 'silly' projects that fascinates MR PA MODOU GASSAMA.

Even the VP knows about it.  The finance minister confirmed it in his budget.  Gambia's foreign debt is spiralling out of control.  The basics for daily survival are out reach for the majority of Gambians.  With all these, people are harassed everyday for voicing out their opinions.  Yet we have drones like Pa Modou Gassama accusing us of twisted logic.  One with a perverted and twisted logic is Pa Modou Gassama, who once howled that the brutally meted out by army personel at the Yundum barracks on a journalist covering a story for the Independent was justified.  Reason is for him, these people deserve what they get because they practice pseudo-journalism in the name of freedom of expression.

Brother Simon, keep up the good work and have a good day.

Best wishes,

Mboge
