Courtesy of The Daily Observer, here is the Senegalese Lions's 22 man line up for the Nation's cup.

Have a good day, Gassa.

The only newcomer in the Lion's 22 man squad is Lille's Sylvaine Ndiaye, who controversially joined up with the squad for the recent friendlies against Burkina Faso and Algeria.

Ndiaye will reinforce a midfield that is already the team's strongest department, containing players of the ilk of Salif Diao, Khalilou Fadiga, Pape Sarr and Mousa Ndiaye.

The three players left out of the final list are Fary Faye, Adama Sarr and Cheikh Gadiaga.

Faye has scored hatfuls of goals in Portugal this year, but left it too late to convince the Lion's technical staff.

AC Milan's Adama Sarr can count himself unlucky not to have made the final 22, but at just 18 he was considered too young for such a high level tournament. The fact that such a talented player will not even be going to Mali is an indication of just how strong this Senegal side is, and why many believe the Lions have what it takes to win their first ever Nation's cup.

Bruno Metsu's (the lion's coach) surprise is that he has only called up two goalkeepers instead of the regulation three. If injury or suspension hits first choice goalie, Tony Sylva, Senegal will only have Morocco-based Oumar Diallo.

Goalkeepers: Tony Sylva (Monaco), Oumar Diallo (Khourigba Morocco).

Defenders: Omar Daf (Sochaux), Ferdinand Coly (Lens), Lamine Diatta (Rennes), Aliou Cisse' (Montpelier), Alassane Ndour (Saint-Etienne), Habib Beye (Strasbourg) and Pape Malick Diop (Neuchatel - Switzerland).

Midfielders: Khalilou Fadiga (Auxerre), Pape Sarr (Lens), Salif Diao (Sedan), Sylvaine Ndiaye (Lille), Amdy Faye (Auxerre) Pape Bouba Diop (Lens) Makhtar Ndiaye (Rennes) and Mousa Ndiaye (Sedan).

Strikers: Henri Camara (Sedan), El Hadj Diouf (Lens), Pape Thiaw (Lausanne - Switzerland), Amara Traore' (Gueugnon) and Souleymane Camara (Monaco).
