Gassa,

"The reason i forwarded that piece is for some of you to learn that change in itself means nothing unless it is change understood and desired.  What this article is telling you is that fighting to bring change should not be for the sole purpose of change in itself."

The above statement goes to confirm the fact that you have a big problem in working out simple equations.  Talk  about being an engineer. Do not even attempt to twist what people write to suit you.  We do not require the lectures of a warped mind.  However sincere or serious you try to be, the reality is u will not hesitate to ask how high? if Jammeh says jump.

I'm gonna reiterate to you that if only you understood what was written in the said article you will realise that it complements those of us yearning for genuine freedom, human rights and decency in Africa and particularly Gambia in this case.  The article in itself is  not the entertainer but a serious one, however its sender seems to be jesting for an audience on this forum.

Gassa, none of us is advocating change just for the sake of it, we want to live  in a conuntry where our liberties and freedoms are sacred.  We want to be free to pursue and realise our potential as human beings.  For most of us we know and realised long time ago before the advent of the APRC and Jammeh that where freedom and democracy goes unhindered development and creativity shall be the order of the day.  We have learned in history that change by itself only can be counter-productive in some cases.  African post-independence politics gives many examples where change if not understood and desired will bring more chaos to its intended beneficiaries. Benin under Soglo and Zambia under Chiluba are two examples where change didn't bring much to its people.

you further wrote:

"Going by the methodology some of you wish to follow is counter-productive."

What methodology are u alluding to Mr Engineer?  We the Jammeh opponents only go by universal standards of human   decency and conventions.  We call a spade what it is when we see one.  We advocate to live in peace without fear or treat to our person, property or beliefs.  We will defend such virtues at all cost.  To you we want to matyr ourshelves, what a distorted and twisted view. The methodology we follow is nothing sort of fair play and honesty.

Then you wrote again:

"If some of you who think that you love the Gambia more than we do, you are deluding yourself."

What a sad assumption from a very erudite  and well informed engineer.  As you would say we all have a stake in the Gambia, however, the difference between us and the likes of you is that we protect our stake according the rules govern by human decency and simple truth.

Your waffle keep raring itself the more u attempt to sound reasonable.  Listen to yourself:

"I have nothing against the opposition. I however hate some of the tactics used.  ....Like i said before, i am not in this for selfish reasons; that is why when some of you make some important observations, i concur."

This a statement  is loaded with double talk and hypocrisy.  We all know how much you abhore the guts and stance of all those fighting against Jammeh and the APRC.  From your position regarding the  massarce of the school children to the flaws of the electoral process, all and sundry know that at no point did you own up to the fact that it is Jammeh and his entourage who are responsible these heinous crimes.  The truth is you've never concured to the opposition stance with any of the issues in contention between them and the Jammeh nincompoops.  When Ebrima Ceesay charted for you Jammeh's lies from the day he usurped power in July 1994 you went mute.  When journalist get tortured you blame them for practising pseudo-journalism or that during the Jawara regime the press had less freedoms.  When civil servants got fired, you said you care less since they refuse to defend themselves.  I would have thought a genuine fighter of the truth will highlight the untruths regardless of the circumstances.  When opposition members get picked and jailed by the NIA, you blame it on their attitude.  When Citizen FM was closed you blamed the owner for not paying taxes.  I'm not saying he shouldn't pay taxes, however, the issued could have been settled amicably or the due process of law be followed.  All i know in civilise countries such things could be settled in a humane way rather than sending military brutes to close a radio station.  I can go on and on but i know u know what i am talking about.

Teach Jammeh and the APRC about tact.  These bunch of buffoons do not have any civility or tact in the way they talk or deal with their fellow citizens.

Yet again the attempt to twist and spin how i viewed the said article becomes blatantly apparent when you wrote:

" However, feel free to remain ignorant and see the article as a joke."

No Sir, i never suggested or viewed the article as a joke, it is the sender providing entertainment gratis.

regards,

Mboge
