Malik,
In case you you didn't realise, Jammeh's project to turn the Gambia into a
one-party, authoritarian State in which everyone succumbs to his venomous
desires was defeated just before the 1996 Presidential elections from the
inspiration provided by the UDP leadership and party militants. They had to
endure all forms of torture,
imprisonment, all forms of degrading treatments, and some even paid for
their lives inflicted by the murderous regime because the former dared to
lead the resistance against the Libyan-style dictatorship that Jammeh and
his henchmen wanted to introduce in our beloved motherland.
Had the UDP leadership been passive and silent like SM Dibba and likes or
compromising or fence-sitting chameleons, the Gambia would have been under a
total dictatorship, where critics disappear by night and never to found
again.
For those of my compatriots who call for 'compromise', their understanding
of this word is completely different from what it actually stands for.
Compromise has nothing to do with succumbing to injustice and dictatorship.
We must never compromise with killers of unarmed children!

Those who don't like the anti-dictatoship stance on the L should just press
the delete button against mails with such views, as simple as that.

The yoke of oppression must be shattered!

BMK
