We understand the exuberance but please do a bit more research before making
sweeping statements like the above.  I doubt very much that the above
statement is true but you should also remember that having more women in
parliament than before does necessarily mean that The Gambia is moving
towards a more equitable situation as it pertains to gender equality.  We
will have to wait and see what positions these women take?  Are they going to
be go with status quo or will they be motivated by conscience?  We'll see...
