I wish you all a peaceful, safe , happy and prosperous new year to you all.

 

I believe at home we call this holiday - Tamharet ( please correct me if I am wrong.)

 

In exactly 10 days from now it will be the day of "Ashura" another important  holiday in the history of Islam .It is also suggested that it is good to fast at least one of these ten days. ( equivalent to fasting one whole month !!!) The prophet Moses ( peace be upon him) received his revelation from Allah  during the first ten days of this month of Muharram which is the  beginning of the  Islamic new year.

 

We are now in the 1423 year After Hijrah -AH-( when the prophet migrated  from Mecca to Medina) thus the beginning of the Islamic calendar
