Habib, Yusu, African leaders behave as if the presidency of their particular countries was duly ordained for them to lead forever and that it is inherently their duty to tell us the citizens what's good for us. I am reminded of an interview done some years back with the late Obafemi Awolowo in which he was asked if young people should run for political office. His answer, he does not think that politics is meant for young people and that young people can best lend their talents to promoting the government. The problem is as young people going back home to effectuate things, our ideas always scare these old men and worse they are not receptive to change.Habib, is this "the new apartheid system" being practice by the Israelis. The Israeli government have to be exhorted into allowing Arafat to travel, they might as well issue him a pass and call him "bantu Arafat". The sad part is the U.S. is sanctioning it.

Yus

It is really sad when we have leaders that are more interested in being in power than help relieve  th pains of their people.

I find  it so disheartening when they sit around knowing (or maybe not/) the history of the likes of Mobutu and yet go the extra mile to sillennce the citizens they are supposed to serve.

I guess because I am not in power to know how or why  our leaders badly needed to sit on their thrones. Money yes but how much can you do with all that money. Mobutu was the fourth or fifth richest mann on earth while his people were the poorest in the world . What a shame. sometimes we just have to blame ourselves for allowing such mess to linger on forever.

good night .

Habib
