Remember I also lived there, and saw many wells in my lifetime. Those wells do not supply very clean or very sanitary drinking water, and constantly building them are small steps but also greatly sub-optimal ones. I refuse to settle for mediocrity and while wells might be OK for some, I would be much more impressed to see a single or many water supply systems which provides safe and sanitized drinking water to, say, many villages. Only good leadership, higher expectations, and better planning & foresight will see bigger and better ventures like this carried out.. I don't think it is unreasonable to expect the powers that be to look far and aim for bigger & better things as it pertains to plans for the development of our beloved country and people. -Yus ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html To contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to: [log in to unmask] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
