Lamin,

Your heart was in the right place in reaching out to APRC supporters so all of us can collectively memorialize the savage killings of our student-citizens. It is psychologically therapeutic for even the killers to recognize their madness. There is however wisdom in what Karamba suggested because the therapy issues only when the culprits recognize the crime. I am sure you do not mean to give snakes free passage to mingle with the good people you know (marley, sort of).

Karamba, I think your idea of the ad is brilliant. It moves Lamin's equally placed idea a notch further. If someone can contact the Independent and The Point and ensure publication of a full page ad, on the 10th of April or editions close to that date but not later than the 11th of April, please advise me privately at this email. I encourage other well-meaning Gambians to join the effort if able.

Mr Sanyang,
thank you for your perspective on the massacre of the
children. I am grateful for your efforts in reminding list members and by
extension the Gambian people the very solemn responsibilities we the citizens
have in commemorating the lives of these precious kids. They were wantonly
murdered by a creul and brutal regime and their memories mocked with a
blatant and calculated Parliamentary Act designed to deny them justice. In
remembering these kids I believe we ought to especially emphasize that
capital crimes of a magnitude we have never seen in our history have been
deliberately committed. Short of the ultimate and inevitable judgment the
Almighty would pass when we all leave this earth, we must all insist that
mass murder is an intolerable crime that has to be thoroughly investigated
and prosecuted to the full extent of the law. While sending emails to Yahya
or any of his cronies expressing what you describe as an "I Care " kind of a
sentiment might have some symbolic value, I am certain it won't bring
survivors or families of victims even a morticum of justice. Yahya Jammeh is
a murderous tyrant who does not give hoot to well meaning and justified
messages of outrage.I would like to suggest we take out full page Newspaper
ads in the Independent and Point newspapers DEMANDING justice of the murdered
kids.
Karamba
