Lat, greetings and point well taken.  My comments were more from the angle
of the political patronage and nepotism that is the trade-mark of the APRC.
Which is why I said that someone other than Manu could have been selected
and the nomination would still lack merit.  That is so, because the spirit
is not to select or hire the most qualified person for the position, but to
return a favor to the individual or on behalf of his friends and relations.
In the case of the APRC, the patterns of political patronage are usually
done through  ethnicity, religion, praise singing, etc.  This is not to say
that every single person in the country that is given a post by the APRC
came through one of these doors, but the overwhelming majority did.  We
cannot and should not run our affairs as a nation on cronyism or political
greasing.  I know your comment was to Sams and I also know that you are not
in for a Gambia that is based on cronyism, nepotism, and all the bad isms
out there.  How's the Yousou N'dure gig coming along?  Keep in touch.
