Joe, you are right in your characterization of Jammeh. This is the same case i made on Saturday at a conference in Minnesota, where we discussed Justice in Africa. I took the opportunity to inform the audience of Jammeh's deplorable human rights record. I informed them of the unjust detention of Dumo and others, the treatment of journalist, the execution of innocent students and the constant abrogation of fundamental rights and freedom.

Most of the audience were very appreciative of the presentation and some even stated that they were not aware of the condition in the gambia, but i was able to give them copies of human rights reports and newspaper clippings.

Ebrima, like Joe said, we are behind you 100% and would use every medium possible to expose the Jammeh regime. Keep your heads up and remember, you are not only fighting for the journalists of today but also for journalists years to come.
