The little I know about this new African Airline is based on an interview I heard over the BBC's Focus on Africa programme of about six weeks ago. During this interview with the pilot, who happens to be a multi-millionear Ugandan, he gave the impression that he was the major share holder or one on the major share holders. I got this impression from his persistent use of the first person singular. In this interview, while acknowledging that there were other share holders, you get the impression that he either started it or contributed more than any other person or company. This interview was done after its inaugural flight from Entebbe to Kampala carrying President Museveni and some high ranking government officials.

Apart from this airline, which incidentally only connects to about three or four African countries including The Gambia, Red Air, which is a Gambian based airline that was launched here in April and now flies directly to London Gatwick, also plans to operate direct flights between Banjul and New york in august this year.

I hope this helps.

Have a good day, Gassa.
