One More Gambian Shot Dead in America The Daily Observer (Banjul) August 26, 2002 Posted to the web August 26, 2002 Ibrima Jt Brown Confirmed sources from the Gambian community in North Carolina, USA have informed the Daily Observer of the sudden and mysterious death of one Kebba Janneh of Bakau Newtown (South) who was allegely shot to death by unknown assailants over the weekend. hundreds of mourners were reported to have converged yesterday at the compound of the deceased to express their grief over the tragic loss. One sympathiser who spoke to our reporter expressed concern over the increase in the number of deaths of Gambians abroad in tragic circumstances. She said the Gambian community in the US should sensitise their members on adopting precautionary measures to avoid such incidents in the future. " I'm very disheartened and shocked on hearing the news about the untimely death of Kebba. He was a very hardworking and disciplined boy," she said. Several other people expressed similar sentiments.
