My information on the status of the Rural Electrication is same as yours i.e that it has been tendered internationally. What I can add is that tender evaluation, I am told, has already taken place and NAWEC awaits final verdict from the Bank for endorsement of the evaluation report and endorsement of the recommendation to award contract. If this is the case, we are still some ways off actual implementation. The selected contractor would need some time to mobilise as you know. I am assumimg that the supervising consultant's contract has already been negotiated and signed. If not, that could add to the delay. What's important at this stage is to ensure that the tender evaluation report enjoys the support of all parties concerned, namely G overnment and the Bank and that the supervising consultant's contract has been negotiated and signed. The MD of NAWEC should be able to provide you with accurate status report. I know he has been working hard on the matter.
