Momodou, Jabou, and the G-L family, As Gassa reported, I am back in Abidjan and found my family safe and sound. The same applies to the Gambian community in Abidjan. Unfortunately the same could not be said with certainty of those residing in other parts of the city and the upper half of Cote d'Ivoire. The fact that the Gambia National team, officials and other national teams are still holed up in Bouake is of concern because the situation is still extremely volatile. Individual efforts are been made to establish at least regular telephone contact with them to offer moral support to team members and officials during these very difficult moments. Let us continue to pray for their safety and eventual freedom. T o the many who expressed concern about our safety, we say thank you. We must also pray for the safety of all those held hostage, particularly Francois Amicha, the Ivoirian Sports Minister who is married to a Gambian. He had just returned from Banjul days before the start of the WAFU tournament. Finally, let us pray for CI and Africa. We certainly need it as a people. Sidi Sanneh PS: I will commence responding to individual mails as soon as I bring myself up to speed on recent developments. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To unsubscribe/subscribe or view archives of postings, go to the Gambia-L Web interface at: http://maelstrom.stjohns.edu/archives/gambia-l.html To contact the List Management, please send an e-mail to: [log in to unmask] ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
